[00:00:30.000] I feel very fortunate that when I got into medical school and when we went [00:00:33.040] through the clinical rotations, I was exposed to orthopedic surgery. [00:00:37.960] I was fascinated by orthopedics, [00:00:39.960] from head to toe, whether it's ankle fracture or hips or neck injuries. [00:00:47.000] So I knew just based on a two week [00:00:49.400] exposure to orthopedics that that's what I wanted to do. [00:00:52.520] I started then practice here in 2011 [00:00:55.600] and I focus exclusively on hand and upper extremity problems. [00:01:00.280] I truly believe that, at least for me, [00:01:03.240] hand surgery is the best field in all of medicine. [00:01:06.200] It's a really special field to be able to see someone [00:01:08.560] who has a problem most of the time that is really fixable, [00:01:11.920] such as carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger fingers, arthritis, [00:01:15.720] to be able to offer a solution to a problem that is far more debilitating [00:01:20.920] than you would realize until you're the patient who can't use your hand.
